Budget With Me ("Budget With Me", "we", "us") is the controller of personal data processed through the Budget With Me website and application (the "Service"). This notice explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: email address, password hash, display name.
• Budget data you enter: paycheck inputs, expenses, bills, budgets, savings goals.
• Support messages: contents of messages you send us.
• Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps, error logs.
• Cookies: essential cookies for authentication and session management.

2. Why we use it

• To create and operate your account (contract performance).
• To provide the Service's features (contract performance).
• To secure the Service and prevent fraud or abuse (legitimate interest).
• To improve the Service through aggregate, non-identifying analytics (legitimate interest).
• To respond to support requests (legitimate interest).
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Who we share it with

• Hosting and infrastructure providers that store and serve the Service on our behalf.
• Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), our Merchant of Record. When you purchase Catch Up, Paddle processes payment, handles billing, tax compliance, invoicing, and refund requests. See Paddle's privacy policy.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
• Authorities where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Retention

We keep account and budget data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records (e.g. tax or fraud-prevention obligations).

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email us at support@budgetwithme.org. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

6. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging — to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to minimize risk.

7. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session continuity. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time.
